For contamination control, Stat-Free filters are the best lube oil filters available to minimize the damages of spark discharge in turbine oil systems. This technology extends the life of the oil’s antioxidant package and prevents turbine system damage by controlling downstream current. Eventually of course, the oil’s antioxidant package will deplete and other problems will start to occur, like varnish. Fluitec’s ESP-4 unit was specifically engineered to remove the depleted additives and degraded base oil components that lead to varnish formation. This technology will remove both suspended and dissolved contaminants, making it unique in the marketplace.

For EHC system maintenance, significant life can be added to the fluid and acid scavenging filters by controlling moisture. The StealthEHC is the most economical system available to maintain water levels below 500ppm in these systems. Many times, the water level is maintained at levels significantly below 500ppm.

Regardless of the contamination control systems that are employed in power plants, problems cannot be avoided unless the correct condition monitoring tests are performed at appropriate intervals and with correct data interpretation.
