Problem
A paper manufacturing plant in Spain detected elevated MPC values, prompting consideration for oil replacement. However, the inability to extend the shutdown for the required flushing and system cleaning posed a challenge to the operations of the facility.
Solution
DECON™ was added at a treat rate of 5% to preclean the system and remove the deposits.
Results
Introduction of DECON to the system resulted in a notable reduction in MPC levels, declining from 29.6 to 5.3. Additionally, Total Acid Number (TAN) witnessed a decrease from 0.46 to 0.25. This facilitated a streamlined shutdown process for the customer, eliminating the need for system flushing and ensuring adherence to the scheduled timeframe within a limited time window.
